Andy left for Africa on Tuesday. AFRICA. And not just Africa, but MALARIA Africa. Channel One sent him to Africa to do a story on malaria. If you know me, you know that I’m ALWAYS afraid that the worst has happened.
If you’re driving home from work, I’m worried that you’re going to get into a car accident.
If you’re shopping at the mall, I’m afraid you’re getting mugged.
If you’re flying to Africa to do a story on malaria, I’m SURE that you’re going to get malaria.
We all wish you well, sweetheart! Stay safe!
So, that’s been on my mind a little lately. Plus I’m kind of lonely in our new big house with NO
FURNITURE. I’m sitting on the floor with the laptop on top of Susan’s travel carrier. comfy.
I finished painting the master bedroom last night. There’s some spots that I can tell need to be touched up, but I’m saving that for the weekend when it’s dayllight and I can actually see. The master bedroom is HUGE! Andy’s parents are coming by tomorrow night
to take me to dinner and help me hang some lights.
The chandelier came in for the dining room. I’m going to finish the dining room over the weekend and get the dining table and chairs in there. Then it might start to feel like home! Once we get the carpet in here, and the master bedroom furniture, I’m SURE it will feel like home. Right now I kind of feel like I’m at someone else’s house doing them a favor. "Sure, I’ll come stay at your unfurnished house and paint every wall in the place! I LOVE to be helpful!"
Andy was very sweet before he left and painted every ceiling that needed to be painted. I really despise painting ceilings. Also? My body doesn’t really like me to paint ceilings. In about 2 minutes, I’m so achey that I want to cry. So, even if he did have to travel at such a BUSY time, he did take care of the things that I just DON’T want to do. He also helped me to finish the spare bedroom. So there is one room with furniture, and I do have a place to sleep.
Needless to say, there’s a lot to be done, and mostly just me to do it. I’ve scheduled the movers to
come NEXT Saturday, so we should be a lot closer to complete then. That’s the same weekend my brother will be here, so I have a lot to look forward to. OH YEAH, that’s also when Andy comes back from Africa! I’m sure there will be plenty to tell and even more pictures to see from his trip.
One more random thought before I go… WE GOT A NEW DOG! His name is Luke and he’s fitting in
well! He has a lot of personality and tons of energy. I’m still deciding if that’s a good thing… He is fast becoming one of Bruce’s favorite toys, and they are getting along well. I think Susan is the first cat that Luke has ever met and even they are getting along. Wish me luck with Luke. He’s the youngest dog I’ve ever had and he doesn’t have very good manners!
Later.
